About Marna
I REMEMBER MY FIRST YOGA CLASS
It was back in 2000, when I first discovered yoga. I left feeling more settled than I had felt in years. I felt like I had been hiking high in the Cascades and breathing that pure mountain air for an hour and a half.
Along with my yoga practice, I started taking meditation classes. Combining both of these, I was able to overcome many difficulties in my life, at that time.
After 11 years of practice, and loving every minute, I said to myself, why don't I just start teaching it!
Light Bulb!
My first day in training we were all sitting in a circle (I could hardly contain my excitement), but as we were introducing ourselves I started looking around and realized that I was the OLDEST person in the room! Hmmm, that idea had never occurred to me! Honest!
That's when I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I knew that I wanted to help women stay strong, mobile, and flexible and feel great about themselves.
I practice yoga, because it clears my head, helps me focus in the moment, keeps me strong and flexible and lighthearted.
I am now in my fifties and my body is changing, but I am changing (as gracefully as I can) with it. My passion for yoga hasn't changed and my practice is still with me, but the emphasis is more focused on aligned posture, core stability, strength and my mind settled. Staying right here, right now, in the moment.
I created Pure Beautiful You because I feel a special connection to women. I see you as Goddess Energy, Shakti, full of life, creativity and an inspiration to all of us. We need women like you and me to help inspire and uplift the future generations to come.
I believe I am here to inspire you with yoga for optimum health in mind, body, and spirit.
WHEN I'M NOT TEACHING OR PRACTICING YOGA....
You can find me taking a walk around town, playing in my garden, out on a date with my hubby, spending lots of time with my amazing kids and grandchildren, looking for live music and dancing or sharing a glass of vino and a lot of laughs with my friends and family.
My personal mantra is to see beauty in everything and everyone. I try to live my life always looking for adventure and magic. I am a lifelong learner, and have a curiosity for studying anything from holistic health to home design.
A few of my addictions.......(oops did I say that?).....are lipstick, champagne, a crusty french bread with triple cream brie, a glass of cold Chardonnay, a just picked ripe peach, home decor magazines and......Instagram!
